Following a memorable welcome day and the grand opening of GEA Malaysia’s new office, Day 2 of the GEA Multi-Destination Summit 2026 officially kicked off with a full day dedicated to B2B networking, knowledge sharing, and partner engagement.

As part of the 4-day, 3-night summit experience, GEA was delighted to provide complimentary 5-star accommodation at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel for all visiting overseas partners — ensuring a comfortable and premium experience throughout the conference.

A Promising Start to the Day

The morning began with breakfast at the hotel, where partners from across Southeast Asia and beyond gathered ahead of an exciting day of activities.

At 8:00 AM sharp, the summit officially opened with a warm welcome speech delivered by Freeman Yeung, Founder & CEO of GEA, who shared GEA’s vision for stronger regional collaboration and the future of international education partnerships.

To encourage punctuality — and add excitement to the morning — GEA launched the first On-Time Lucky Draw right at the start of the event. Guests arrived enthusiastically on time, eagerly anticipating both the prizes and the highly anticipated B2B Speed Dating sessions that followed.

One of the day’s key highlights was the official launch of GEAR 3.0, introduced by Benny Toolseram, GEA Southeast Asia Director.

The upgraded platform is designed to enhance the experience for institutions and partners by offering a more efficient and transparent way to:

• Streamline communication between institutions and recruitment partners

• Improve overall operational efficiency for global student placement

The morning keynote sessions featured valuable institutional and industry updates:

Institutional Update by IMU

Sebastian Loh, Associate Director of International Medical University (IMU), shared the latest updates on IMU’s academic offerings, student opportunities, and developments in medical education.

Representing the summit’s largest sponsor, Mr. GuoHao Sun of Easy Transfer introduced how Easy Transfer simplifies cross-border payments, allowing students and parents worldwide to pay tuition fees and living expenses securely, efficiently, and at highly competitive exchange rates.

The Most Anticipated Segment – B2B Speed Dating

The summit’s signature B2B Speed Dating sessions officially began at 9:00 AM.

Every 10 minutes, participants rotated between institutional booths, creating direct 1-to-1 conversations between channel partners and university representatives.

This interactive format allowed partners to:

• Understand program structures and scholarship offerings

• Explore collaboration opportunities

• Build stronger working relationships with school representatives

Dato’ Prof Dr Abdul Rashid Khan, Dean of RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC), presented on the institution’s medical education system and professional pathways for aspiring healthcare students.

Understanding EMGS

Mr. Moeen, Regional Head of South Asia at Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), introduced EMGS’s vital role as Malaysia’s government-authorised agency that manages international student services — including visa approvals, student pass processing, and administrative support for overseas students studying in Malaysia.

The afternoon then continued with another extended B2B Speed Dating session, allowing for even deeper engagement and more networking opportunities.

Scan & Win + A Sweet Malaysian Finale

To make the speed dating sessions even more interactive, GEA introduced Scan & Win, a gamified challenge where participants earned points by:

• Joining booth activities

• Answering quick-fire questions

• Engaging with more institutions

• Completing event missions throughout the day

The competition was intense with participants actively engaging across booths in hopes of ranking among the Top 8 winners, who received exciting prizes, including the Grand Prize: a Huawei tablet.
