Campus Immersion | Experiencing Malaysia’s Higher Education First-Hand

After a highly successful B2B networking day, the GEA Multi-Destination Summit 2026 continued with one of the most anticipated segments of the conference — the Campus Visit Experience, designed to give institutional partners and channel representatives an authentic look into Malaysia’s leading universities and student lifestyle.

Over the next two days, participants were invited to step beyond presentations and experience Malaysia’s education ecosystem first-hand.

Day 3 – Discovering Malaysia’s Top Campuses

The day began bright and early as participants departed in three dedicated buses, heading toward the first university visit of the day. To make the journey more meaningful, each bus featured a local guide who introduced guests to Malaysia’s unique culture, daily lifestyle, fun local facts, and social customs, creating a warm and immersive cultural welcome for our international visitors.

Stop 1 – University of Nottingham Malaysia

The first stop was University of Nottingham Malaysia, where participants explored its scenic campus environment, world-class academic facilities, and vibrant student life.

Guests were especially impressed by the university’s spacious surroundings and self-contained campus ecosystem — a place where international students can enjoy both academic excellence and a peaceful learning atmosphere.

A Taste of Malaysia on the Road

As the group travelled to the next destination, participants were treated to one of Malaysia’s well-loved local snacks — Seaweed Rice Rolls (紫菜饭团).

Simple, hearty, and full of flavour, the meal quickly became a crowd favourite, with many participants commenting that it was both delicious and surprisingly generous in portion — another memorable taste of Malaysian hospitality.

Stop 2 – Taylor’s University

Next, the group visited Taylor's University, widely recognised for its award-winning campus design and beautiful lakeside setting.

Participants were captivated by the relaxed learning atmosphere, modern facilities, and vibrant student spaces — many describing it as feeling like an Australian-style campus in the heart of Malaysia.

The campus perfectly demonstrated how academic excellence can coexist with lifestyle, wellbeing, and inspiring learning environments.

Stop 3 – Monash University Malaysia

At Monash University Malaysia, participants toured the campus and experienced more than just facilities.

The university thoughtfully prepared a mini interactive session in the main hall, where attendees actively participated in fun activities organised by the university team. The energy in the room was lively, with participants enthusiastically joining in and connecting directly with university representatives.

This interactive approach gave guests a deeper understanding of Monash’s student-centred learning culture.

Stop 4 – Sunway University & Sunway City

The final university stop of the day was Sunway University, followed by a special Sunway City Canopy Walk Experience.

Rather than simply touring the campus, participants were invited to walk from Sunway University directly to Sunway Pyramid via the connected canopy walkway, allowing them to experience what daily student life is truly like in Sunway City.

This showcased how international students can enjoy:

• Direct access to shopping, dining, and entertainment

• Nearby accommodation options

• Integrated healthcare and recreational facilities

• A mature, self-sustaining city ecosystem built around education

Many participants were impressed by how convenient, secure, and complete the environment felt — making Sunway City a standout study destination.

Celebration Dinner & Social Media Awards

The summit’s final evening was held at Dandy Restaurant, where guests enjoyed dinner while celebrating the day’s experiences.

To encourage engagement, GEA hosted a Social Media Challenge throughout the campus visits. Participants who posted content from the four university visits competed based on engagement, and those receiving the highest number of likes won special prizes during dinner.

Each participating university had two winning slots, making the competition lively and fun while generating strong online exposure for all campus partners.

Following dinner, guests enjoyed a shopping session at Sunway Pyramid, before regrouping and returning to the hotel — wrapping up an unforgettable day.

Day 4 – Final Campus Experience at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia

The summit’s final day brought participants to Heriot-Watt University Malaysia for a thoughtfully curated campus visit and workshop session.

Beyond the campus tour, Heriot-Watt prepared interactive academic workshops that allowed participants to experience teaching delivery first-hand.

Highlights included trial lectures in: Psychology & Actuarial Science

These sessions provided valuable insight into Heriot-Watt’s academic rigour, classroom engagement style, and industry-relevant curriculum — giving partners a clearer understanding of what students can expect from the learning experience.

From strategic B2B meetings to immersive campus visits, local cultural experiences, and meaningful academic engagement, the GEA Multi-Destination Summit 2026 successfully brought together institutions and partners in a way that was both productive and memorable.
