In the vibrant spring atmosphere of Hangzhou, the GEA Spring North America Roadshow – Hangzhou stop was successfully held with great enthusiasm. The event brought together over 40 core partner counselors, creating a dynamic environment filled with insightful exchanges and meaningful connections.
The event featured an impressive lineup of distinguished representatives from renowned institutions and education groups, including Northeastern University, Stony Brook University, Duke Kunshan University, USC International Academy, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Red River College, and Shorelight partner institutions. Covering top-tier resources from the United States, Canada, and Sino-foreign joint programs, the event delivered the latest admissions insights to our counselor partners.
The event commenced with GEA updates, where Ms. Lety shared the latest developments and service enhancements, highlighting GEA’s role as a strong bridge connecting partners and institutions. This was followed by Ms. Michelle’s insightful session on “GEA’s Canada Training,” which provided an in-depth analysis of recent policy changes and application strategies for studying in Canada—equipping counselors with valuable knowledge to expand their Canadian market pathways.

A key highlight of the event was a forward-looking roundtable discussion, where university representatives and counselors engaged in meaningful dialogue around four core topics:
1️⃣ What changes do you anticipate in international student application volumes for 2025–2026 in your institution (or region)? Will the growth continue to rebound or stabilize?
2️⃣ Economic impact: With increasing sensitivity to education costs among families, how do you foresee market purchasing power in the coming year?
3️⃣ Based on current consultation and application trends, which programs are expected to emerge as popular choices next year? Will STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields remain strong?
4️⃣ A bold prediction: What could be the biggest “black swan” event in the North American international education market in 2026? Or where do the greatest opportunities lie?

Following this thought-provoking exchange, the event moved into an efficient and engaging “speed training” session. Counselors rotated among institutional representatives for one-on-one discussions, gaining deeper insights into application details, scholarship policies, and program highlights. The atmosphere was both energetic and well-structured.
The successful conclusion of the Hangzhou stop not only strengthened the collaboration between GEA, its partner counselors, and institutions, but also provided valuable first-hand insights into the trends shaping the North American international education market in 2026.
As the future unfolds, GEA will continue to work hand in hand with its partners—embracing opportunities, navigating challenges, and empowering more students to embark on their North American study journey.
